Energy Sales distributes
alkaline batteries made by Duracell,
Eveready,
Gold Peak,
Kodak, Panasonic, Rayovac,
and Sanyo.
Alkaline batteries are the most popular
primary batteries, which offer good low temperature and high
rate performance at a moderate cost. Standard sizes are AAAA,
AAA, AA, C, D, and 9 volt. Alkaline cells are 1.5 volts (nominal)
and range between 34 to 17,000 mAh in capacity. The recommended
discharge drain is from 620 to 39 ohms. The energy density
by weight is 75 Wh/lb (163 Wh/kg) and by volume is 6.5 Wh/cubic
inch (398 Wh/litre). There is a 5-year shelf life to 80% capacity
at 20 degrees C. The operational temperature range is from
-20 degrees C to +55 degrees C.
Common applications for the alkaline
batteries are cassette players, tape recorders, calculators,
radio, TV, flashlights, and other high-drain primary battery
applications.
