Zinc air batteries have a high energy density. They come in button and 9 volt transistor sizes. Zinc air cells are 1.4 volts (nominal) and range between 65 to 1,100 mAh in capacity. The recommended discharge drain is 620 to 39 ohms. If the zinc air cells are kept sealed their self discharge rate is only 2% per year. Once the sealing tab is removed the activated cells self discharge 50% of their capacity after 3-12 weeks at 20 degrees C. The operational temperature range is from -20 degrees C to +60 degrees C.
